Audi delays plans to leverage the all-electric crossover model E-Tron, whose premiere was due to be on August 30 after Rupert Stadler, executive director of the company, was arrested.
Namely, the Ingolstadt manufacturer intend to present its new model in Brussels, the same city will be producing E-Tron. However, plans have now changed, and this model will be presented to the public in America later this year.

When discovering changes in plans, Audi representatives simply stated that the reason for this was “organizational nature.” The announcement came just one week after Rupert Stadler, executive director of the company, was arrested on suspicion of interfering in an ongoing investigation regarding cheating on tests for emissions of harmful gases.
Despite this delay, Audi representatives said E-Tron would certainly arrive in sales outlets across Europe before the end of this year. The company has already received thousands of deposits
for this vehicle.

This decision from the Ingolstadt manufacturer means Mercedes-Benz will be in the lead when it presents its EQC electric crossover on September 4 in Stockholm.
When E-Tron finally appears, it will have a 95 kilowatt-hour battery pack, one electric motor on the front and two electric motors on the rear axle. All in all, it will develop about 429 horsepower and, according to WLTP protocols, it will be able to cross over 400 kilometers with one charge.

After the E-Tron, Audi will present three more variants of this electric crossover: E-Tron Sportback, E-Tron GT and E-Tron compact.
