The Sedan G70, which manufactures Hyundai under its luxury brand, Genesis, will fight for customer loyalty in the segment that has been dominated by models such as the Audi A4, the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes C-Class for decades.
The Korean car maker Hyundai has launched a couple of years ago a separate auto-brand with the goal of entering the premium vehicle market.
A similar move by Hyundai has been withdrawn by Japanese auto-companies Toyota, Nissan and Honda, which have been present on the world market for decades with its luxury brands Lexus, Infiniti and Acura.
Japanese premium brands initially were not easy, but they ran for a part of the market cake over time, strengthened their positions and sharpened their visual identity.
In the “Big German Triple” race, Lexus, who in the United States in 2017, has been in the lead with BMW for the second position among the best-selling premium manufacturers behind the unmistakable Mercedes.
Lexus also looks great in Russia, where in 2017 the best-selling car was Lexus RX, ahead of BMW X5 and Mercedes GLC.
Although the Genesis brand is just in its infancy, the Korean manufacturer has ambitions to become a new Lexus one day.
One of his strongest addicts is the G70 limousine that arrives on the US market in the summer, where the big competition is in this segment.
The vehicle dimensions are: 4.685 mm long, 1.850 mm wide and 1.400 mm high, while the bore range is 2.835 mm.
The car will be offered to US customers in two gasoline engine versions, with a 3.3 V6 unit and a four-cylinder 2.0 aggregate.
The mentioned twin-turbo V6 is taken from the Kia Stinger model and produces 370 hp (272 kW) and 510 Nm of the maximum torque.
The heaviest petrol engine, with a capacity of two liters, delivers 254 hp (188 kW) and 352 Nm, while the diesel engine has 201 hp and 439 Nm. This model can be ordered with six-speed manual transmission or with automatic transmission.
The Genesis G70 has its default in its basic versions.
At the top of the offer is a package bearing the G70 Sport label. This version is powered by a V6 engine and has a 4-point drive, and 0 to 100 km / h accelerates for 4.7 seconds.
