At the 60th anniversary of the original “bagi” of the 500 Jolly Spiaggina, two special versions of the modern FIAT 500, which celebrate the summer and fun on the beach, appeared. The original FIAT 500 Jolly Spiaggina was manufactured between 1958 and 1965 in co-operation with Carrozzeria Ghia.
This stripped car – without the roof and the door – intended for hiker adventurers was sold to Europe, the United States and South Africa at twice the price of the standard FIAT 500, and was popular among public figures such as wealthy shipowner Aristotle Onassis or actor Yul Brynner. The new series, called Fiat 500 “Spiaggina ’58”, symbolically is limited to 1,958 copies, and is a tribute to the original from 1958.
This car too has an open roof, but FIAT has not decided for such a radical conversion as a 60-year-old vehicle – it’s a “normal” convertible version with a canopy roof. But some details make this version unique.
In first place there is mark “Spiaggina 58” in retro style , and the car is painted in special “Volare Blue” color. The car is decorated with a contrasting white line and there are also special 16 inch alloy-wheels also in retro style. Fiat 500 Spiaggina 58 also has chrome side mirrors.
The interior of Fiat 500 Spiaggina 58 with blue-white elements is designed to match car exterior design also there are special seats designed with striped cover. Although it has a retro image, the car is equipped with modern gadgets , such as Uconnect multimedia system with 7-inch touch screen, digital instrument panel, sensors for automatic wipers and headlights, automatic climate control and rear parking sensors.
Special edition Fiat 500 Spiaggina 58 will be available only with 1.2l engine that produces 69 BHP, that is more than enough for this type of car..
