Suzuki has fulfilled its promise to fully present the new generation of its Jimny off-road model on July 5, and we are more than happy to share the most important details about it.
We know that a large number of you have been eager to find out what’s to be found unde the hood of this model, without further delay, following the details of the drive set in the version that is intended for the European market.
Namely, in this SUV model to be sold in Europe, a new 1.5 liter petrol engine will be found that will replace the old 1.3 liter volume drive unit.
Japanese manufacturers claim that the new aggregate will develop more rotations and a higher turnaround time, “even at low speeds,” which will improve Jimny’s ride, especially on the inaccessible ground. Despite the greater volume, the new aggregate is about 15% lighter than its predecessor, but it is also significantly more efficient.
A new four-cylinder aggregate of 1.5 liters (1.462 cc), develops 100 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque. It is linked to a five-seater manual gearbox, optimized to make the aggregate more economical, and thanks to a new sleeper and handle, vibration in the cabin has been minimized. As an option, the four-stage automatic gearbox will also be available, which is even more efficient.
The power of SUS aggregates via switches is sent to all wheels thanks to Suzuki’s “Allgrip PRO AWD” system, which, as claimed by the company “Designed for Professionals”. It is about the all wheel drive system, which has three driving modes, namely 2H, 4H and 4L. The permissible attack angle when approaching the obstacle is 37°, and this angle is 49°.
As far as the design is concerned, as seen in the photographs, Suzuki Jimny has remained true to his ancestors. The start date and price for this model is still unknown.
