San Francisco plans to electrify the city bus fleet in the next 15 years. The Traffic Agency of this California city will launch a pilot project in 2019 to find out how electric buses will show off in urban crowds and on the steep streets that San Francisco is recognizable.
It will then move on to the next phase, which implies the first purchase of electricity buses. In the period between 2025 and 2035, a renewal of the fleet is planned, and all new buses will be electrically driven. By 2035, all city buses on diesel would be retired from traffic and replaced by electric.
