The race variant of the fully electric model Tesla Model S, marked EPCS V2.3 Tesla P100DL, was presented on the track in Catalonia, Barcelona, and it’s about Model S.

Drivers will have at their disposal 778 horsepower (585 kilowatts) and an instant torque of 734 pound-feet (995 Newton-meters) in a race-ready EV that will do 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in an amazing 2.1 seconds, so 0-60 mph (0-96 kph) should take just 2 seconds. To put that into perspective, a standard Tesla Model S P100D with the Ludicrous mode does 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds. Go all out and the electric race car will max out at 155 mph (250 kph).

As we can see in the photos and the bodywork is modified, we notice the expanded wheels and the body kit created for the needs of a race that creates greater adherence forces and helps the car to be agile in the curves.

Tesla S, as well as other electric cars, will be part of the championship, which consists of 10 races in the season. The races will be held in Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Portugal, and the last race will be ride on Valelunga in the vicinity of Rome.
