To mark its first year under the ownership of the PSA group, Opel is working on a new car that will carry the name GT X Experimental Concept.
This model is expected to feature a brand new design line for Opel and Vauxhall.
At the teaser photo we see the executive director of Vauxhall / Opel, Michael Lohscheller revealing a small part of the design of the new car concept. And on the basis of that we can not say that this concept will have a design similar to one of the earlier models of the German / British company.
At the front of this, for now, mysterious model, we see the logo of the Vauxhall logo, which is on a mask (grid) with a design extending from the bottom to the bottom and the horizontal line at the bottom.
There is also a “Vizor”, an option that includes frames around the headlights, direction indicators, sensors and company logo. We can say that the “nose” of this model looks pretty aggressive.
Another thing we can see in the photograph is the lack of air intake and air vents, which may mean that the concept will have a complete electric drive assembly.
Company representatives have stated that they want the bold design to become a new trademark of Opel, and Mark Adams, the company’s design chief, said the future cars of the company would definitely stand out from the crowd.
“Design will be the starting point of everything we will do in the future, and the Opel / Vauxhall models will be significantly different from other cars on the road,” he noted.
Vauxhall / Opel will introduce new design elements from the GT X Experimental Concept on other vehicles from its game that will be presented next decade. Will GT X Experimental get to the stage of production, it remains to be seen.
