In addition to the short video, VW released the first official details of the smallest SUV in its T-Cross model.
Namely, T-Cross will be positioned in the VW tire under the T-Roc model, which was officially unveiled last year. Also, the T-Cross will be a direct competitor to models such as the Nissan Juke.
As we already known that it will be based on the MQB platform, and considering its dimensions, it is inevitable to compare with the Volkswagen Polo model. In fact, this model could very easily be described as a slightly higher version of Polo.
When we’re about size, VW has announced that the smallest SUV model will be 4.107 millimeters long and 1.558 millimeters tall. Also in the company’s announcement, it is stated that the T-Cross’s cab will be spacious, and that the capacity of the luggage will be 455 liters.
As far as drive options are concerned, this model will initially be available with three petrol TSI units and one diesel engine. The introductory, monolithic TSI unit will be sold in two versions, one of which is 93, and the other 113 horsepower. The strongest aggregate capacity of 1.5 liters will develop 148 horsepower, while the TDI engine will develop 94 “horses”. Each T-Cross will be sold only with front-wheel drive.
The interior will be available in a multitude of colors, and an optional digital dashboard as well as the latest infotainment system with a screen size of eight inches will be available as an option. The cabin will also include a wireless charger as well as USB ports.
Despite the fact that VW wants T-Cross to be the cheapest crossover of his game, it will be equipped with a number of safety-free systems such as a single-track vehicle maintenance system, dead-angle monitoring, traffic alerts behind the vehicle, and the like.
The VW T-Cross will arrive in Europe in the spring of next year.
